Midwest Business Funding re-ups Indy Saints FC sponsorship for 2018
CARMEL, Ind. — A partnership between Indy Saints FC and Midwest Business Funding that spawned earlier this year in the Saints’ inaugural season will be renewed for 2018, the two parties told Soc Takes on Friday. Midwest Business Funding will sponsor both the men’s and women’s Indy Saints FC sides.
“We are a local commercial finance company,” Midwest Business Funding managing director Scott Callahan said. “I would describe us a boutique commercial finance business that works with smaller, growing businesses here throughout the Midwest.”
The brand-new Indy Saints FC women’s team is currently prepping to debut in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Tryouts were held Saturday in Indianapolis, and the club confirmed that more information surrounding its coaching staff and roster will be made available in the near future.
The men’s side will play in the Ohio Valley Premier League in 2018 after encountering problems in the Champions Soccer League USA (CSL USA) this year. Further details on the “Guys in Gold” will also be announced soon, per Saints head coach Jason Brown.
With Midwest Business Funding set as a title sponsor and two squads preparing to take the pitch in appropriate-level leagues, the club has positioned itself for growth while living within its means. Call it a grassroots approach with a sprinkle of corporateness.
“This team really fits our niche, or our geographic area,” said Callahan of why the Fishers, Ind.-based lender makes an ideal partner for the club. “We’re not trying to get outside of the Midwest. And we work with small, growing companies that are in growth phases and need working capital.”
Callahan confirmed that the sponsorship agreement exists on a year-to-year basis.
“I think it’s a great alignment, to be honest with you,” he added. “We’re pretty excited to get a little bit of exposure and have some fun.”
“Scott was, I think, our first sponsor when he came on board last year with the men’s program, so we’re happy to have those guys back,” Saints owner Chris McGrath said. “We deeply appreciate the support.”
